Burnishing (clay) is an ancient technique where the clay is repeatedly rubbed using a hard and smooth object until it's compressed enough (becoming watertight) and has achieved a nice gloss. These sculptures are burnished 3-4 times, slow fired and polished; leaving a subtle sheen on the surface.
The forms are pieced together by coils and inspired by gentle movements, conveying warmth, protection and embrace. Many stand in multiple positions, creating a variety of shapes and channeling different feelings with each angle.
