In early November of this year I traveled to Oaxaca, Mexico for the first time. Though I had heard many wonderful things about it, never did I expect it to be a transformative trip.
Through Thread Caravan I was introduced to artisans and their families, visited their homes and workplace, watched them work on their craft and listened to their stories whilst taking in the beautiful Oaxacan landscape.
I saw immense beauty being created before my eyes by strong people carrying so much passion, tradition and pride. The powerful dedication is felt through their stories and the perseverance to keep the craft tradition alive is undeniable.
My trip was short but tremendously inspirational so much so that I’ve already planned future trips back to pursue a mission that has been kindling in my heart for many years. ~ Re Jin
